| BGAN - Aid / Emergency Response Solutions |
When disaster strikes, emergency first responders need an immediate and effective way to restore essential communications, so that rescue and aid efforts can start within minutes of arriving at the disaster area and continue unimpeded, regardless of the state of terrestrial networks. Inmarsat's BGAN service provides both voice and broadband data via a single device, completely independent of terrestrial fixed and cellular telephone networks. BGAN can be used by individual aid workers for remote project management or by small teams who need to set up a temporary field office in areas of need, as well as for welfare communications in disaster situations. Quick to deploy and simple to use, BGAN enables transimission of video footage of the disaster scene, access to off-site data while making phone calls at the same time - ensuring all parties are informed of the latest situation, thereby optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the emergency response. |
